Automatic grinding specialist launches German company

A leading grinding machine specialist has launched a new company in Germany dedicated to supporting all German-speaking nations.

P S Auto Grinding Ltd (PSAG) opened P S Foundry Tech GmbH in July 2016 to accommodate existing customers and new ones as orders for Koyama automatic grinding machines continue to increase across Europe. PSAG is the sole distributor in Europe for the Japanese-manufactured machines, which have proven their worth in foundries throughout the world.

The wide range of Koyama machines are designed to handle castings from less than 1kg to over 300kg in both manual and turntable versions. PSAG is able to supply and support machines to suit extensive cast iron, nodular iron, aluminium, copper and brass foundry applications.

PSAG has a proven track record in Germany, where the company has already sold over 20 Koyama machines. Such is the demand and size of the market that the decision to open up a dedicated enterprise within the country was only a matter of time, explains PSAG managing director Paul Smith. “We have a good foundation in the German market which is there for us to build upon and we had such a fantastic response from the GIFA exhibition in 2015 that the decision to open P S Foundry Tech was a logical one to take.”

To ensure that the high standards of P S Auto Grinding is maintained the company has employed experienced foundry engineer Dipl Ing Holger Schwarz to act as sales manager and authorised officer in Bochum, Germany.

Schwarz will strengthen the company’s presence in Germany and add value to customers there. “It is notoriously difficult to find agents that can represent the company as well as employees so we are delighted to have been able to employ someone of the calibre of Dipl Ing Holger Schwarz to work with us,” said Smith.

“This is a very important market for us and we want to serve it correctly. It is sensible for us to do so from within Germany so that we can respond swiftly and effectively to all needs.”

Schwarz has spent his working life in the foundry sector and is an ideal representative of PSAG.

Koyama automatic grinding machines use diamond wheel abrasive technology and are available in a range of sizes. There are clear health and safety advantages for companies switching to Koyama automatic grinding technology, but there are also large cost-saving benefits such as the reduction in stocks of abrasives, a potential reduced spend on personal protective equipment, and low energy consumption. In addition the machines offer the safeguard of guaranteed consistency, which is always a bonus for a foundry’s customers.

Installation costs are minimal and, thanks to easy to use programming, IT support is unnecessary.
