Core philosophies embrace new branding

The ability to maintain a robust workflow, ensure all customer needs are satisfied and that commissioning and installation commitments have been honoured during what has been a testing time for all, is verification of the skillset and strength of character of a loyal and conscientious team, says a global foundry equipment supplier. “We are stronger than ever,” Mark Lewis, managing director of Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd, told Foundry Trade Journal. “We have had a busy, but productive twelve months and we are delighted that our employees have risen to the challenges everyone has faced this past year. We have been able to fulfil all our promises to customers and accommodate new enquiries and orders. This is all a credit to our teams working throughout the pandemic.”

The very core of the company is steeped in teamwork and ensuring continuity. It is this passionate work ethic and the desire to lead the way that has seen Omega Sinto continue to develop and expand capabilities in spite of a year of uncertainty and change for many global engineering companies. “We are agile and we just get on with it,” Lewis enthuses. “We have very strong values and our employees have pressed on with jobs, which has ensured that we have not been late with deliveries and we have not let anyone down. Our customers come to us because they want the best and they have put their faith in the high standards that we place on ourselves.”

Whilst a loyalty to the company brand is a given, a very real and tangible commitment to ‘manufacturing UK; is also commendable. “Our business is very much rooted in the UK and we are committed to the manufacture of our equipment at our headquarters in Peterborough,” Lewis says. “Our expansive workshop, spares stores and R&D facilities in Peterborough are well equipped and we continue to invest in the company. In this way, we are able to guarantee the quality and expertise of the UK’s extensive legacy of engineering and manufacturing skills. Training, skills development and apprenticeships are all important to Omega Sinto and this focus enables us to guarantee that our machines are made and delivered from the UK to anywhere in the world and will meet all requirements.” Employee welfare is fundamental to the continued growth in the company and securing certification to the international safety accreditation standard ISO 45001, is something everyone at Omega Sinto is particularly proud of. The standard focusses on employee safety, reduction of workplace risks and the creation of better, safer, working conditions. The dedication to securing a safe working environment is as important to the company as the dedication to technical expertise and customer relations.

Committing to the test and trace philosophy to further ensure employee safety, the company has purchased 500 test and trace kits to enable employees to continue to work on site and to give peace of mind to them, their families and to customers in all parts of the world. It is an exciting time for Omega Sinto and the little matter of a global pandemic and Brexit were not going to prevent the company from celebrating over 35 years of foundry machinery solutions for the global cast metals sector, coupled with 85 years expertise of the Sinto brand. The company’s production teams and equipment and technology support teams at the head office in the UK and in various global regions have continued to serve the international customer base throughout all the complexities of the past year. The strength of the truly global partnership has facilitated such successful results.

The latest exciting news includes a re-branding of Omega Sinto machines to recognise the wide-ranging benefits of the combination of decades of investment and development thanks to both the Omega and Sinto heritage. It is a culmination of further growth and progression since the two giants in the foundry machinery sector combined forces in 2018. Subsequently, Omega Sinto has gone from strength to strength thanks to the expanded equipment range in the field of chemically bonded sand, combined with the valuable reputation of UK manufacturing and global reach of the two companies. The new branding encompasses the product ranges of sand mixing, RFID pattern recognition, mould handling, sand reclamation, core making and coating plants. The name may have changed, but the integrity of the products and depth of expertise remains very much at the core of this global powerhouse. Speaking about the announcement Lewis said: “The names may have changed on the machines, but that is all that has changed. It is business as usual here. The technology, capabilities, safe working practices, commitment to UK manufacturing and, most importantly, reliability of the Omega Sinto equipment remains world-class.”
