New WFO President

The World Foundry Organization (WFO) has elected a new president. Umur Denizci of Turkish foundry Denizciler Dokumculuk will head up the organisation for 2020 and 2021. The honorary role will see him work with the WFO secretariat team, its executive board and the WFO member associations to further develop the organisation in the coming years. He takes over the role from outgoing president Mark Fenyes of Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd.

Having worked in the foundry industry for 48 years, Umur Denizci has a wealth of technical, practical and business experience. He is the current president of the Turkish Foundrymen’s Association, TUDOKSAD, and has served on the WFO executive committee for more than ten years, providing him with ample understanding of the global marketplace. He has a BSc, MS degree in metallurgical engineering and established the jobbing foundry Denizciler Dokumculuk in 1978.

He has been actively involved in the recent progress of the WFO and is keen to continue the positive advancement. He said: “It is a great honour to be elected president of the WFO and I am delighted the membership has faith in our abilities as an executive board and secretariat. It is an important period for the WFO. We have been in the process of some important structural changes over the past five years to further enhance our commitment to our member associations and enrich the service we provide them and their members. We have a strong secretariat team with increased resources and have thus been able to develop our social media presence and general communication abilities.

“The WFO Technical Forum, World Foundry Congress and WFO Global Foundry Summit are our main networking tools to be able to share technological and business developments. The excellent communication with our member associations also gives us the ability to publish global production trends and news about the international foundry sector. I look forward to continuing to increase our strategic plans to meet the industry’s expectations.” www.thewfo.com
