For the second time the European Foundry Association, CAEF, has presented a European Foundry Women’s Award.
This year’s recipient is Annalisa Pola, professor in metallurgy at Università degli Studi di Brescia (Italy) who was selected because of her decade-long dedication towards encouraging women to become the next foundry industry leaders.
She was presented with the award at a forum during the GIFA exhibition in Dusseldorf (Germany) in June. On accepting the award, she said: “I have never given up fostering the importance of women, not only in the foundry business but in society at large.” She was recognised for her “sheer unlimited persistence in a very male-dominated industry”, which CAEF says should be motivation enough for all upcoming female talents.
The award was again sponsored by 3D Métal Industrie.
